Jason Tart, the owner of Sunrise Plumbing and Water Filtration in North Port, Fl, has long been a successful entrepreneur. In this session join us to hear his inspiring story about how he took his business from a small family-owned venture to a thriving and growing enterprise.

Learn the secrets behind his success and what tips he can offer to help you find success too!

What inspired you to start your own business?

I was inspired to start my own business because I wanted to build something of mine that I could be proud of. Growing up, all I ever heard about was going off to college and getting a job, but along the way, my entrepreneurial spirit kept urging me to find my own purpose.

When I finally decided to start Sunrise Plumbing and Water Filtration, it felt like the most natural choice and it allowed me to have an impact on the local community while pursuing my dreams.

What advice would you give entrepreneurs starting a business for the first time?

My best advice for anyone just starting out is to be brave, stay focused, and never give up. You are your own biggest asset, so stay confident no matter what obstacles come your way.

Having said that, it’s also important to take some risks when building your business and don’t be afraid to make mistakes because they can lead you on the path to success. I believe that the key is determining which risks are worth taking and thinking outside the box!

How did you go about finding investors and expanding your network?

Finding investors and expanding my network were one of the biggest challenges during my business’s early stages. I knew I wanted to grow but didn’t quite know how.

My strategy initially started out with cold calls and reaching out to people in my existing network, but eventually, it evolved into attending local events and meetings such as chambers of commerce meetings and investor pitch events – which got me more visibility.

It also helped a lot to join industry associations for plumbers so that I could build relationships and make important contacts within the plumbing industry.

Describe the process of scaling from a small business to a larger one.

Scaling from a small business to a larger one can be quite a challenge. There’s a lot to consider, from advertising to managing employees and dealing with customer service issues. One of the most important parts of scaling was creating systems and processes that would streamline the workflow and save time.

Automating marketing channels, creating effective customer service processes, and documenting common tasks were key for growth.

Other things like creating project outline documents for construction or repair jobs also helped ensure that everything ran smoothly as we took on more customers on larger projects.

What have been some of the most challenging moments of owning your own company?

One of the most difficult parts of owning my own business has been finding the right people. Training employees, dealing with customer service issues, and ensuring that projects are completed on time can be incredibly challenging.

It’s not just about finding reliable workers but also looking for individuals who have the same vision, values, and passion for the business as I do.

It takes commitment and dedication for a business to grow, so having employees that are willing to invest the same amount of time and effort is essential to success.
